Fuel Issues for Module f14

  You and the captain used the available computer programs available to estimate the amount of fuel you needed before you departed Europe:

 700 kg for taxiing (moving on the airport grounds) at both departure and destination
54,800 kg to fly to Toronto
2,400 kg reserve fuel, if needed to fly to an alternate airport (Niagara Falls or Ottawa)
1,300 kg route reserve fuel, in case of unexpected headwinds or route changes
2,800 kg final reserves as an extra safety measure
=======
62,000 TOTAL fuel required for this trip

  You and the captain had looked at the weather forecast before you departed Europe, and you knew that there was a chance of bad weather (thunderstorms) when you arrived in Toronto.  So as a safety precaution, you added an extra 3000 kg of fuel, which gave you an additional 23 minutes of flying time.  This extra flying time is useful if bad weather prevents you from landing right away, or if both your destination and the alternate airport have bad weather.

Overall, you did a good job getting the fuel you needed, with some extra added for safety.
