html and Web Authoring - part 1

Learning Goals:   By the end of day 1, you should be able to
  1. Use a web-page authoring tool such as KompoZer to create basic web pages.
  2. Create headings, lists, tables, font formats, image insertions, links, anchors, etc in your web page.
  3. Associate html tags with items and appearances on the web page.
  4. Upload your web page to a web server.


Note: The work produced in this lab will serve as the starting point for Lab 2 on html. 
Method: We will create a web page for a mock business.

    Lab Demo:  See the Lab Demo and Homework Assignment, and follow along with Stull as he demonstrates how to insert images, create links, and use templates in the KompoZer web-authoring program, by creating a web page of your favorite links.

    Reading Assignment:

    1. Skim the “KompoZer User Guide” to see what topics are covered.

    Goal of Readings: To learn how to enhance your online Resume using the web authoring tool called "KompoZer", and to upload it to a server.  To create your personal web page with links to your resume, your favorite weather map sites, etc.
