The Mineral Rainbow

The zoomable image is from the PME's Mineral Rainbow Case! The wide variety of colours displayed originated from various 'ways' of generating colour in minerals, from being 'self coloured' (as in azurite) to being 'other coloured' (as in amethyst).

Tips for zooming: your mouse pointer must be over the image to make controls visible. See the little "?" button for a bit of help.

• Alt-click to zoom in 100% and alt-double-click to zoom fully out.
• The "Enter full view" buttons pops zooming image out to full-screen. ESC to return.
