Smart Phones: Miniature mineral depositS (with an uppercase S!)

This exhibit is a wonderful example of how complicated our high technology devices are, and how a wide variety of materials are required to arrive at our 'end product'. In this case, the example is a smartphone! Notably, each one of the metal components that goes into this smartphone must come from its own specific ore deposit, meaning that to produce such a device requires at least 15 separate operating mines!
