Based on our fossils and their relative positions, we have established that the area of our study was likely the coast line of the . At the time our samples were deposited, the sea was "shallow", but still deep enough for our fossil to occur. We now know that these fossils were deposited during the period. Also, the sea level at this time and at our location appears to have been , also referred to as a marine .

While no single set of 5 fossils will tell the whole story, it is pretty remarkable how, with just a few fossils, knowledge about living and fossilization environments and some logic, we can significantly constrain our understanding about the geological history of this part of British Columbia!
