Drilling over the San Nicolas Deposit
This figure shows a plan-view of drill-hole locations.
- All drill-holes shown (apart from SAL-90 and SAL-91) provided density measurements
of rock units.
- Red square: Density measurements on
drill-cores from SAL-31 were used to investigate the effect of using a single
borehole to set bounds on 3D inversion of gravity data.
- Green Triangle: Susceptibility measurements
made on drill-cores from SAL-69 were used to investigate the effect of using
a single borehole to set bounds on 3D inversion of magnetic data.
- Blue diamonds: Susceptibility values
made on these 13 cores were used to further constrain 3D inversions of magnetic
data.
- Orange line: position of the north-facing
geologic cross section.
- Purple line: position of the west-facing
geologic cross section.
The drill-hole notation of SAL represents "Salvador" because the
San Nicolas discovery came from a drilling program that was initiated on the
El Salvador project.
