Laboratory Facilitator (Earth and Environmental Sciences), Douglas College

The Lab Facilitator (Earth and Environmental Sciences) provides laboratory instruction, evaluation and supervision of students in the geology laboratory including preparation of materials for use in the laboratory, subject to the curricula approval of the Earth and Environmental Sciences faculty. This position provides exceptional client-centered service on a consistent basis to all stakeholder groups.  This temporary full-time position is available from June 15, 2017- June 14, 2018. Hours of work are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Specific hours may vary based on semester lab schedule. Travel will occasionally be required between both campuses.
 
 

Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Physics, University of Toronto

The successful candidate for this position will be able to undertake a comprehensive study of the issue of "cloud clearing" of the MOPITT data and, in collaboration with the other researchers involved in the study, to implement improved algorithms in a staged manner: technique development, cast studies and the full implementation.  This will involve a deep understanding of the measurement methods and retrieval techniques used both for MOPITT and other similar space instrumentation and the ability to conceive of, and implement, improved algorithms.  In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in other MOPITT and Canadian Space Agency activities as needed and to present research findings to the wider community.  All individuals interested must submit a cover letter, CV and three references names with their contact addresses and phone numbers to by June 30, 2017.
