2-Year Postdoc Position in Microplastics Research, Earth & Environmental Sciences, University of Windsor

The University of Windsor seeks a postdoctoral researcher to investigate the spacial and temporal variability in sources and transport pathways of microplastics through agricultural systems and downstream freshwater environments; with a focus on development of standards in sampling and analyses procedures.  The initial 6 months of research will involve conducting field sampling at pre-specifies locations within the Lake Simcoe watershed, with subsequent work in laboratories within the Earth and Environmental Sciences department, at the University of Windsor.

Tenure Track Position in remote Sensing of Aquatic Systems, University of Zurich

Based on a joint agreement between Eawag and University of Zurich, the Department of Surface Waters - Research and Management (SURF) has an open position for a Tenure Track group Leader in Remote Sensing of Aquatic Systems to conduct research on the use of remote sensing to advance understanding of aquatics systems and to facilitate cross-scale assessments of processes in lakes, reservoirs, rivers, floodplains, wetlands and urban environments.  The successful applicant is expected to build an independent research program that facilitates the use of remote sensing across Eawag and to contribute to fulfilling Eawags's mandate in education and  expert consulting.

The successful applicant will be supported through collaborations with research groups within the department and will benefit from the interdisciplinary environment of Eawag.  The candidate is expected to collaborate with the Chair of Remote Sensing of Water Systems at the nearby University of Zurich, where the candidate will have an affiliation to the Department of Geography.  Hydrological, meteorological, and archived biogeochemical data as well as high performance computing are available.
