I received my Ph.D at Oregon State University in 2008 where I worked on the formation and mineral chemistry of the El Salvador porphyry copper deposit in northern Chile.  Upon completion of my dissertation I worked in industry with the major mining company Freeport McMoran where I was part of the greenfields exploration team working on projects in North America, Philippines, and Europe.  Since 2014 I have been at UBC as the lead researcher for the CMIC-footprints project a large scale multi-collaborative endeavor to define new innovative methods towards the distal expression and vectoring towards economic ore deposits.  

My main expertise is in the formation of and chemical composition of porphyry copper deposits and techniques both physical and chemical in which to explore for them.  I am also interested in mineral chemical composition related to economic ore deposits and how this can be related to fertility and exploration specifically focussed on but not limited to zircon.
