DCIP2D:
Synthetic Example 2 - All-default Inversion

Previous Page (Standard Inversion) | Next Page (Coarse-mesh Inversion)

This example illustrates the capability of DCIP2D Version 3.0 in performing preliminary inversion of field data sets with the minimal amount of user input. The inversion is carried out by supplying to the program only the data file and the surface topography file. The inversion program thus generates the default finite difference mesh, estimates a reference model and an initial model, chooses a set of default coefficients (s, x, z), assigns estimated error standard deviations to the data, and constructs a smooth model that best fits the data. The IP inversion has used the recovered conductivity model for its sensitivity calculation. The recovered models are very similar to those from the standard inversion shown in the previous example.
