DCIP2D:
Synthetic Example 4 - Fine-mesh Inversion

We now use a finely partitioned mesh to carry out the inversions. The mesh has four cells per station interval in the horizontal direction and the aspect ratio of near-surface cells is unity. They are very similar to the results from the Standard Inversion. The recovered anomalies appear to be slightly smoother. It is noteworthy that the increased computation time due to the large number of cells compared to the standard inversion has not produced much improvement in the results. Thus the use of an excessively fine mesh is not advised.
