Lab 2 - Web Authoring - part 1

Topics:  

  1. Continue learning how to use the KompoZer web authoring tool.  Learn how to insert images, links, lists, and how to use templates.   Guidelines for creating good web pages (do's and dont's).
  2. Study the source code that the KompoZer program creates.  Learn about html tags, how they come in pairs, and how to edit them directly.   
  3. Learn how to upload your web page to a server.

Lab Demo:  Follow along with Stull as he demonstrates (WebDemo1) how to insert images, create links, and use templates in the KompoZer web-authoring program, by creating a web page of your favorite links.

Homework Assignment.  (Due by the end of Friday of Week 2 of the term.)

Reading Assignment:

  1. Read “KompoZer User Guide” Chapters 7 (templates), 8 (site manager), 9 (preferences), and 10 (publishing).

Goal of Readings: To learn how to enhance your online Resume using the web authoring tool called "KompoZer", and to upload it to a server.  To create your personal web page with links to your resume, your favorite weather map sites, etc.
