Research

My research focuses on the magmatic controls for ore deposit genesis, specifically for porphyry Cu-Au, magmatic Ni-Cu-(PGE) and Cu-Au-Ag-(PGE), and VMS deposits. My research is rooted in field-based studies using geological mapping and drill core logging. Main topics include: 

  • Petrology and geochemistry of ultramafic-mafic and intermediate porphyritic intrusions in convergent margins (e.g. Alaskan-type intrusions, pyroxenite-syenite complexes, porphyry Cu-Au systems)
  • Magmatic fertility for porphyry Cu-Au deposits
  • Volcanostratigraphy in seafloor environments related to VMS systems
  • High-precision U-Pb zircon geochronology applied to ore deposits
  • Zircon and apatite mineral chemistry and isotopes
  • Radiogenic isotopic geochemistry applied to magmatic petrogenesis and geodynamics
  • Hyperspectral imaging and core sensing integration
