Free geotechnical drilling demonstration event on May 3, 2024
Omega Drilling is holding a free geotechnical drilling demonstration on Friday May 3, 2024.
This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about how geotechnical investigations are performed in the field.
The event will feature:
Field demonstrations of auger/sonic drilling and sampling, hydrovac excavations and utility locates
Technical discussion sessions on instrumentation and monitoring, laboratory coordination, and various geotechnical/environmental industry groups
Networking opportunities with local consultants and contractors
Free lunch will be provided!
You will also have the opportunity to talk to engineers and managers from local consulting firms and contractors and hear about their experiences and job opportunities at their firms. Many graduating students last year found their jobs through this event. Depending on interest, the UBC CGS chapter will arrange group transportation from UBC campus to the event location.
