Postdoc in Aquatic Microbial Ecology - Portland State University

The Bluewater Lab at Portland State University is looking for a postdoctoral scholar to join us in researching the ecology of marine picocyanobacteria. You will have a strong understanding of microbiology and microbial ecology in environmental systems. You will have experience with a range of research methods, which may include oceanographic field work and/or SCUBA, lab work, genomic, and bioinformatic analysis. See our publications for a sense of our research areas, but we are also open to new avenues that leverage your unique skills on questions of picocyanobacterial ecology in the ocean. Your professional references will speak to your curiosity, strong publication record, attention to detail, and collegiality. You will be working with a research team that includes graduate students (MS and PhD), undergraduates, and the PI (Anne Thompson) at Portland State University as well as our collaborators at other institutions. Mentorship of other lab members will be encouraged, and you can expect mentorship in return, including collaboration on an individual development plan with the PI as well as opportunities to present research at professional meetings. We hope you will be a long-term member of our lab, staying at the minimum one year, but hopefully up to 2.5 years.
