Dr. Barbara Scott Smith awarded the GAC Duncan R. Derry Medal

Dr. Barbara Scott Smith, an Adjunct Professor at EOAS, has been awarded theGAC Duncan R. Derry Medal. This highest distinction of the GAC's MineralDeposits Division is awarded annually to the outstanding economic geologistin Canada in recognition of the skill and stature as a professional economicgeologist and also for public contributions to the science field. Dr. ScottSmith is awarded for her contribution to the success of diamond explorationand mining in Canada and training of Canadian kimberlite geologists.
