I am a PhD student in the hydrogeology research group, supervised by Prof. Roger Beckie. My research focuses on exploring seawater-groundwater interactions using field techniques and reactive transport modeling to understand the impact of saline intrusion on biogeochemical processes in the coastal aquifer, focusing on iron and manganese. Specifically, I’m trying to: 1) understand how the density-dependent flow pattern affects the mixing process and biogeochemical dynamics; 2) investigate the sources, transport, and transformation of organic matter in the aquifer and silts; and 3) predict the long-term geochemical evolution of the system.
