Meteorologist Internship

Wood is currently seeking an Intern Meteorologist to join our operational Weather Forecasting Team, which provides 24/7 meteorological services to terrestrial and marine clients. Our Digital Environment Group has over 20 years of experience providing meteorological and oceanographic services in North America and various international locations. We are weather, climate and ocean experts, mitigating financial and safety risks for clients whose businesses are sensitive to high-impact weather events or severe ocean conditions.

Although most of our meteorologists work out of one of our main offices in St. John’s, NL or Ottawa, ON, we are open to hiring candidates willing to work remotely anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. The position will be supporting forecasting clients across North America and worldwide by assisting our forecast desk with their duties. This is a part-time, fixed-term (4-8 months) position with flexible hours depending on the candidate’s availability and our operational needs. If you have a passion for weather analysis and forecasting and wish to assist with forecasting for some of the areas with the most extreme weather in North America, then we would love to hear from you!

Although assisting our meteorologists with weather forecasting will be your primary responsibility, we offer other opportunities to contribute, such as climate forecasting, climate risk assessment, programming, GIS, weather instrumentation support, business development and others.

When applying, please submit a resume, cover letter and a current transcript. In your cover letter, please clearly indicate what your windows of availability are during the week.
